The beauty on the Milan runways has referenced the ’60s this season, and Giorgio Armani’s autumn/winter 2024 show was no exception. Hiromi Ueda, Armani’s global make-up artist, explained that it was the detailing on the models’ eyes that communicated this nostalgic inspiration: “Celebrating the timeless allure of the ’60s with a modern flair – the make-up captures the essence of winter flowers and new beginnings.”
Ueda used tonal palettes and created a radiant skin canvas, to allow the eyes to really make a statement. “We created a delicate beauty, infusing romance through floral-inspired eyes,” she says. “Each stroke of the Smooth Silk Eye Pencil and Eye Tint in 99 whispers of blossoming petals.” The careful strokes of the liner gave a fluttery lash illusion – an elegant and modern version of a winged eye. Ueda then went on to sculpt cheeks before “softly tinting lips” with a skin-tone lipstick, to maintain the fresh feeling of the overall look.
Hairstylist Roberta Bellazzi created sleek half-up-half-down styles that fell into soft waves. Perfect for showing off those fluttery, floral-inspired eyes.
